IOT Remote Monitoring

Smart Pump Monitoring System

Real-time IOT monitoring for pumps used for critical infrastructure — accessible from any device, anywhere.

Categories

Pump failures in critical infrastructure such as plumbing / sanitary installations, drainage and sump systems often go undetected until significant damage has occurred. Minerva’s Smart Pump Monitoring System provides facility managers and infrastructure operators with real-time visibility into pump operating status, fault conditions and tank / sump pit levels — all monitored remotely through our YAVA IoT cloud platform.

Connected via cellular transmission, the system integrates with existing pump control panels through a custom IoT interface panel. Status data is continuously streamed to the YAVA cloud, making it accessible via a web dashboard and a mobile app available on both Android and iOS — with no on-site presence required.

Installation

The photo below shows Minerva’s custom Smart IoT Panel (left enclosure) installed alongside the existing pump control panel (right) at a sump pump station.

What Is Monitored

The system captures key parameters from the pump control panel, providing a complete operational picture:

ParameterDescription
Pump Run StatusIndicates whether pumps are running or stopped
Pump Trip/Fault StatusDetects fault or trip condition of pumps
Tank / Sump Pit High LevelsTriggers alert when tank / sump pit level reaches high/overflow levels
Tank Low LevelsTriggers critical alarm when water tanks reach low levels

Additional parameters can be incorporated based on specific site requirements. The system is scalable to monitor multiple pumps and tanks / sump pits across a single installation.

How It Works

The system follows a straightforward three-layer architecture:

FIELD

Sump Pump Panel  →  Custom IoT Interface Panel

Status signals (run/stop, trip, level) are wired from the pump panel to Minerva’s compact custom IoT panel installed in the field.

NETWORK

Cellular Transmission  →  Internet  →  Cloud

Data is transmitted wirelessly via the 4G network to Minerva’s YAVA cloud server — eliminating the need for dedicated wired networks or on-site servers.

USER

YAVA IoT Cloud Platform  →  Web Dashboard + Mobile App

Operators and managers access live data, historical logs and notifications via the YAVA web dashboard or mobile app on any device.

Platform Features — YAVA IoT Cloud

The system is powered by Minerva’s YAVA IoT Cloud platform, which provides a comprehensive suite of monitoring and reporting tools accessible from web browsers and mobile devices. Data is accessed via a web dashboard or from a mobile app.

Map View & Connection Status

Displays a live map view of all device installations alongside a real-time connection status summary — giving operators an immediate site overview upon login.

Device Data Analysis

A dedicated Device Status page provides detailed connection diagnostics for each IoT edge device in the field, enabling quick identification of any offline or faulty units.

Real-Time Control Panel

The Control Panel page displays live measurement values for all monitored parameters — pump run/stop status, trip/fault states and tank/sump level alarms — updated continuously.

Data Explorer

Users can query and view historical logged data by selecting any parameter of interest and a custom date range, enabling trend analysis and operational review.

Customisable Reports

Data log reports can be configured and exported for record-keeping, compliance documentation or operational audits.

SMS Notifications

Automatic SMS alerts are sent to designated contacts when user-defined trigger conditions are met — such as a pump trip or sump high-level alarm.

Key Benefits

Early Fault Detection

Immediate alerts for pump trips, faults and abnormal tank / sump levels allow operators to respond before minor issues escalate into flooding or operational / equipment damage.

Remote Visibility

Monitor pump status and tank / sump conditions from anywhere — no need to physically visit the site for routine status checks.

Capex-Free Software

No upfront software development costs or server infrastructure investment. Simply subscribe to the YAVA cloud — upgrades and hosting are included.

Rapid Deployment

Minerva's custom IoT panel integrates with existing pump control panels with minimal disruption. Systems can be commissioned quickly without major civil or electrical works.

Data Logging & Reporting

All parameter data is continuously logged to the cloud, with customisable reports available for operational records, audits or regulatory requirements.

Wireless Connectivity

Cellular transmission eliminates the cost and inconvenience of running new signal cables, making the system suitable for locations without existing network infrastructure.

Typical Applications

Minerva’s Smart Pump Monitoring System is suitable for any installation where pump operational status and tank or sump levels need to be monitored remotely, including:

  • Underpass and tunnel drainage sump pumps
  • Building plumbing & sanitary installations
  • Building basement and carpark sump pumps
  • Stormwater and flood control pump stations
  • HVAC condensate and chiller pump systems
  • Industrial process sump and transfer pumps
  • Water and wastewater treatment pump systems

The system can be configured for single or multiple pump installations across one or multiple sites, with all devices visible from a single YAVA dashboard.
